Green Design and Establishment of Resource Recycling Assessment System Project – Workplan

Absrtact
The main work items of the project were as follows: (I) Collating and analyzing data on industries with significant resource recycling potential and the results achieved over past years in promoting Cradle-to-Cradle (C2C) design principles, and formulating guidelines for the promotion of green design for products in the industrial sector, as well as identifying the concrete benefits from green design promotion; (II) Strengthening the mode of operation of the Taiwan Cradle to Cradle Strategic Alliance, and promoting industrial linkage and resource recycling; (III) Strengthening the promotion of C2C design principles in universities and the cultivation of specialist human talent; (IV) Formulating resource recycling assessment and certification systems and operational mechanisms, providing guidance to help industry upgrade its resource recycling capabilities, and promoting cross-industry mutual learning and mutual growth; (V) Collaborating on project-related administrative tasks, to enhance the quality and effectiveness of project implementation. Utilizing a range of strategies that included strategic alliances, knowledge platforms, promotional activities, and the formulation and implementation of resource-recycling systems, the project has realized the coordinated implementation of C2C-related work, including the holding of sectoral meetings and the annual membership meeting, maintenance of relations with and between Alliance members and the fostering of exchange and collaboration, the building of consensus among members, and the issuing of Alliance publications to help recruit potential members and realize the benefits of cross-industry alliances. The project’s knowledge platform website was updated and optimized, and a new “Alliance Members’ Area” was established on the website, to provide members with more up-to-date information about Alliance meetings and channels for exchange and communication, so as to strengthen platform functionality and usability. “Train the trainers” courses were held, to spread awareness of and promote C2C design principles. In addition, C2C design principles were incorporated into the curriculum at two university departments. “Waste resources circular economy assessment operations” were conducted, with the aim of promoting the development of the circular economy in Taiwan and enhancing the resource recycling capabilities of Taiwanese industry, so as to create a vision for green industry development and promote cross-industry mutual learning and mutual growth. Assistance was also provided for the implementation of administrative work relating to the project, so as to enhance the overall effectiveness and quality of project implementation.
